Olive oil is the heart and soul of Spanish cuisine. Join us for a one-of-a-kind learning experience that will elevate your olive oil knowledge and palate. Watch a short documentary, learn from the experts and participate in a tasting activity – all devoted to Spanish olive oil.

The experts joining us for this day of olive oil are José Joaquín Sotomayor and Fernando R. Ortega. José knew from a very young age that he wanted to work with olive oil. Today, he is a consultant dedicated to developing only the best extra virgin olive oil. Fernando is the owner and founder of San Antonio-based Spanish olive oil company, ILOVEACEITE.

Larder and Sternewirth will be featuring the rich flavors of top-quality Spanish olive oil in tapas and dishes specifically designed to highlight this ingredient. Or find a seat at Supper’s table to experience Chef John Brand’s creative approach to incomparable olive oil.

Our six monograph days are part of Pearl’s Olé, San Antonio, a summer-long program that celebrates our city’s Spanish heritage and commemorates the city’s Tricentennial. Follow along and learn all about wine, salt/plancton, conservas (tinned seafood), jamón and cheese.
