Bilingual Storytelling at Emma

July 13, 2018
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

The Library at Hotel Emma, 136 E Grayson St, San Antonio, TX 78215

Stories fuel the imagination. Books bring stories to us from other places and other voices. As part of Pearl’s Olé! celebration, Spanish publishers have sent a wondrous array of children’s books to San Antonio. Join us in celebrating this literary exchange at one of our two bilingual storytelling events. While it’s designed for children ages 5 to 10, parents and teachers are encouraged to attend as well.

Our guest for our first event is distinguished educator and artist Terry Ibáñez. Terry is a painter and printmaker, as well as a devoted teacher who taught in San Antonio schools for 28 years. Her artwork has been exhibited in many cities in the U.S. and Mexico. She has created historical murals honoring significant San Antonio women including Emma Tenayuca. Terry has illustrated three books for children such as Hairs/Pelitos by Sandra Cisneros and Christmas Tree: El Árbot de Navidad by Ama Flor Ada.

This event is complimentary and open to all guests. Please RSVP via the link below.
